Job Title: Special Projects
Hourly Pay: $23-26/hr depending on experience
Position Summary:
Special Projects is a coveted role within the company. The Special Projects team leads Hedrick driven internal engineering projects to improve our operations and machinery. In the past, the projects have included building a new headwall and primary crushing installation, installing conveyors, building new plants, and retrofits to existing plants. Hedrick Industries takes great pride in the fact we assess, design, and build our own projects without the need for outside support. This position is for someone who likes welding, building, and working with a team of dedicated folks to get the job done.
Minimum Qualifications:
•Must be eighteen years of age or older
•Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
•Must have a track-record of being a dependable employee
•Strong communicator able to communicate with Engineer and Superintendent to produce best project for company and employees
•Able or willing to learn to operate various types of mobile equipment to assist with the project process
•Understand, handle, and execute on multiple tasks in a project setting
Preferred Qualifications:
•High level of familiarity with all aspects of cutting, welding, fabricating, etc., that may be used in Special Projects
•Able to read engineering drawings and execute plans from the drawings
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Operates an off-road haul truck safely and efficiently to meet production goals
•Operates within the company guidelines and safety standards
•Performs daily pre-shift inspection of equipment and reports needed repairs to supervisor
•Performs preventative maintenance procedures such as lubrication and is responsible for good housekeeping of equipment
•Aides in the training of co-workers as needed
•Some overnight stays out of town and some weekends potentially required
•Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Essential Functions, Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
· Pre-employment drug screening
· Able to work outdoors in most weather conditions
· Able to work in a physically rigorous work environment. Position may involve walking, standing, sitting, bending, and climbing stairs. Job may require crouching, stooping, or crawling.
· Able to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs
· Able to climb steps/ladders
· Able to sit for hours
