Wood is recruiting an Intermediate Electrical Engineer for our Operations business, located at our office in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
Within this role you will be focusing on supporting our reginal clients to deliver various industrial projects in the Mining, Oil and Gas, Electrical Generation and Electrical Utilities sectors. This is a full-time position with a flexible working arrangement. Reporting to the Fredericton Electrical Lead and working alongside other team members locally and across the country, you will have the opportunity to provide electrical design and technical support for a wide variety of projects.

- Prepare design documentation including schematics, one-line diagrams, layout drawings, specifications, and technical reports
- Design , develop, and coordinate low voltage systems in compliance with client requirements, industry standards
- Perform power systems studies, arc flash studies, short circuit studies, grounding studies and electrical coordination studies
- Familiarity with power system modeling in Etap and SKM
- Familiarity with SEL relays, AcSELerator Quickset software, RTAC software
- Work with vendors and subcontractors to evaluate system components, submittals, and shop drawings
- Conduct field inspections, site walks, and design verifications to ensure system installations meet design intent
- Interface with clients to present designs, gather feedback, and incorporate revisions; Establish good working relationships and communicate with area leads, department managers, clients and other engineering disciplines to coordinate, ensuring the compatibility of design

- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
- PE license or progress toward licensure is required
- Familiarity with Navisworks and Bluebeam is a plus
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in low voltage system design
- Minimum 4 years experience in electrical design for mining, oil & gas, electrical generation or similar industrial industries
- Team player, but also able to work independently and take responsibility
- Able to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks in a highly scheduled environment
- Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
