Purpose of Role: The Foundry Technician/Furnace Operator is responsible for melting steel to a molten bath. They will become familiar with the equipment used in maintaining or repairing the refractory lining of the furnace and will use this equipment to maintain the refractory coating on the inside of the furnace.

- Operate Equipment: Operate steel melting furnaces to produce molten steel according to production specifications
- Equipment Check: Verify the condition of the furnace and ensure the proper charge is placed in the furnace. Monitor furnace temperatures, melt times, and material inputs to ensure optimal performance.
- Computer Documentation: Activate the electronic heat log steps in the melting subsystem on the computer. Maintain accurate records of furnace operations, maintenance activities, and material usage.
- General Maintenance: Learn and apply techniques for maintaining and repairing refractory linings, including patching, coating, and relining. Perform routine inspections and maintenance of furnace systems and associated equipment
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
- HS Diploma/GED
- Need to be comfortable working from heights (~15 ft)
- Ability to work in a high-temperature environment and perform physical demanding tasks
