The Doe Run Company is seeking a Truck Driver Battery Breaker w/CDL to safely operate tractor trailer to move product between Doe Run Company (DRC) locations, following Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations. This rotating position is located at The Buick Resource Recycling Facility in Boss, MO.
Education & Experience:
•High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
•Minimum of one year experience as a truck driver.
•Valid, current driver’s license.
•Valid, current Class A CDL license.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
•General maintenance skills.
•Ability to maintain safe driving record and Class A CDL license.
•Effective communication skills.
•Ability to apply and understand Department of Transportation rules and regulations.
•Skilled operation of over-the-road truck in varying weather and road conditions.
Responsibilities:
•Transport product to multiple DRC locations (up to 100 miles) using an 18-wheel semi-tractor trailer and a 10 wheel dump truck.
•Follow DOT rules and regulations to ensure safe passage of DRC equipment, materials, and people.
•Make sure the work area and equipment are clean and in good working order.
•Communicate daily work activity and transportation schedules with personnel at various locations.
•Provide support for the receiving department and operators as needed.
•Interact with DRC facility personnel and provide support for the loading process.
•Ensure trailers and loads are road ready.
•Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health, and safety) policies, procedures, and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment, Physical & Lifting:
•Frequently required to wear personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to respirator, hearing protection and eyewear, work near moving, mechanical parts, and exposure to vibration. Regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions and moderate noise level. Occasionally required to work in confined spaces.
•Regularly requires driving and repetitive movement. Frequently requires sitting, feeling attributes of objects, grasping, and reaching with hands/arms. Occasionally requires talking, hearing, pushing, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, and balancing. •Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds. Frequently required to lift up to 75 pounds. Occasionally required to lift up to 100 pounds.
