Phenix Marble Company is looking for an experienced Production Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Ash Grove, MO location, located two miles north of Highway 160 on Farm Road 45.
Position Overview
To manage the production facility's preventative and corrective maintenance initiatives and production equipment and systems. Working under the supervision of the Operations Director, the Production Maintenance Technician will manage the maintenance program, troubleshoot malfunctions and support the manufacturing team with the overall goal of ensuring smooth and uninterrupted operations.
Key Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Preventative maintenance (PM):
•Perform scheduled inspections, lubrication, and adjustments to prevent breakdowns.
•Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments or calibrations to meet specifications.
•Educate production employees on routine PM techniques and monitor compliance.
Repairs and troubleshooting:
•Respond to equipment failures and diagnose problems using various methods, including observing operations and using testing instruments.
•Disassemble and reassemble machinery and equipment to repair or replace faulty parts.
•Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functionality.
Equipment installation and modification:
•Assist in installing new manufacturing equipment.
•Make modifications and adjustments to equipment as directed.
•Update technical manuals and track all technical changes.
•Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive and corrective maintenance requirements.
•Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications as needed for install, repair and modification tasks.
•Troubleshoot malfunctions and comply with NEC standards on wiring and installations.
Record keeping and reporting:
•Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including PMs, repairs, and modifications.
•Generate reports on equipment failures, corrective actions, and work progress.
Safety and compliance:
•Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., OSHA/MSHA).
•Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
•Ensure the work environment is clean and safe, free of hazards.
Teamwork and communication:
•Collaborate with other maintenance team members and the production team to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
•Communicate equipment status and potential issues clearly and effectively.
Skills and Qualifications
Must be proficient reading and Interpreting Mechanical and Electrical Prints. AC Drives; DC Drives; Servo Drives; PLC; HMI; Close loop control systems; AC, DC, and Servo Motors; Machinist and Mechanic Skills;* Drill; Grinder; Pneumatics; Hydraulics; Valves; Vacuum pumps; Lubrication systems; Lathe; and Mill.
•Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
•Ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues efficiently.
•Thoroughness in inspecting equipment, performing maintenance and documenting work.
•Resourcefulness and analytical skills to overcome challenges and find effective solutions.
•Clear verbal and written communication to interact with colleagues and to document work.
•Basic computer skills for tasks like data entry, using maintenance management systems and generating reports.
Educational Requirements
•Associate degree or vocational training in industrial maintenance, electronics, or a related field preferred
•At least 1-2 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance preferred
Notes
•We are a full scale production facility - equipment and tools include motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, coupling and motor alignment, roller chain/sprockets alignment, conveyor systems, and production machines.
•Experience within the stone industry is not essential – training will be provided.
•Drug screening and background checks are part of our pre-employment process.
•Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and pass a physical.
•Must have reliable transportation.
•All PPE will be provided; you must provide safety toe boots and pants.
