The Legal Administrative Specialist’s primary role is to support the Legal Department in utility system acquisitions and regulatory compliance across eleven states. This position is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive tracking system for regulatory conditions resulting from acquisition and rate case proceedings and ensuring timely compliance with all deadlines. This position is also responsible for facilitating Utility Services Agreements through closing, managing the legal calendar, and assisting the Manager of Legal Administration with closing processes. This position requires a highly analytical thinker with advanced Excel skills, high level of organization, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners. Performs all other duties as assigned
- Maintain a tracking system for regulatory conditions established in acquisition and rate case proceedings across eleven states, ensuring fulfillment of the conditions in accordance with deadlines
- Maintain legal calendar for Legal and Regulatory Departments including filing dates, Commission agenda meetings, hearing dates, etc
- Attend calls with in-house counsel and outside regulatory counsel as required
- Create content and data room for quarterly investment memos
- Assist in maintaining corporate contract administration software
- Assist in-house counsel in formatting, editing, and preparing contracts
- Attend kick-off and due diligence calls with external real estate counsel and surveying specialists to identify impediments to system acquisition
- Attend monthly closing call with external real estate counsel and other necessary parties
- Facilitate consummation of Utility Services Agreements (USA) and oversee USA closings. Necessary functions include hosting monthly USA call with external real estate counsel and other necessary parties; ensuring internal departments are informed of USA terms and progress; obtaining documentation from developers to satisfy regulatory requirements; verifying fulfillment of agreement conditions prior to Closing; securing required information for Closing from Developer
- Assist Manager of Legal Administration with closings. Necessary functions include: scrubbing system customer list and coordinating load into customer service software (MuniLink) with Billing/Customer Experience; obtaining required information for closing from sellers; addressing sellers’ questions/concerns
- All other duties as assigned
