CT PUMP OPERATOR
Responsibilities and Duties
► Operates fluid pumps and associated equipment without supervision.
► Operates nitrogen pumps and associated equipment without supervision.
► Operates coil tubing units and associated equipment without supervision.
► Mobilizes of equipment by driving coiled tubing units, pump trucks, N2 trucks, transports (land operations only), or pickup trucks to the job location.
► Conducts the pre-job and post-job inspections and testing of the coiled tubing units, N2 units, fluid pumps and other ancillary equipment by completing pre and post job inspection forms.
► Conducts the maintenance and general upkeep of the coiled tubing units and related equipment.
► Maintains a safe work area or job site by following Company HSE and Standard Operating Procedures manuals.
► Monitors, inspects and adjusts all major equipment during operations to ensure the equipment's adequate operation, such adjusting pump and injection rates.
► Trains operators and assistants in equipment operations and procedures.
► Delegates certain job tasks during job operation.
► Writes accurate job tickets, daily logs, pre- and post-job reports, JSA's and other documentation as required.
Prerequisites
► This position requires the employee to have completed a minimum of 365 days as a Services Operator Trainee Level 1 (SO-1) or equivalent. In addition, the employee must have completed all of the required "Skills" training for the SO-2 level before being eligible for advancement to the SO-2 level.
► Knowledge of fluid pumps and associated equipment including proficiency in the proper start-up of
equipment, initiation of pumping, switching tanks, maintaining proper rate and pressure as per job
requirements and/or procedure.
► Knowledge of Nitrogen unit operation including proficiency in proper start, cool down of unit, initiation of pumping, transfer of liquid nitrogen between tanks, maintenance of flow rate and pressure as per job requirements and/or procedures.
► Knowledge of Coiled tubing unit operations, including correctly connecting hydraulic hoses, equipment
start-up, engaging of prime mover and hydraulic pumps. A demonstrated knowledge of the function and
location of all coil tubing unit operating controls.
► Demonstrated proficiency in making appropriate adjustments to pumping equipment based on job conditions, such changes may include adjustments relating to rate, temperature, or pressure during the job.
► The ability to perform in field repair of equipment. These abilities would include re-packing fluid pumps, re-build chokes, field dress BOP's and pack offs.
► Demonstrated proficiency in the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment in the field. Abilities would include diagnosing downhole complications and troubleshooting surface equipment.
► Valid CDL with hazardous material endorsement (land districts only - required).
► Ability to work a "24 hour on call" schedule.
► Ability to meet the physical, language, mathematical and reasoning ability requirements of the S0-2 position.
Functional Capacity/Physical Requirements
► Ability to lift a sack weighing 80 lbs. from floor and carry 20 feet, place sack on 42" platform and return to floor 5 times.
► Ability to pull a sled with 175 lbs. a distance of 50 feet one time.
► Ability to hang from a 1 1/2" rope for a minimum of 15 seconds (offshore only).
► Ability to climb to 3rd rung of stepladder return to floor 5 times.
► Ability to lift 80 lbs. from floor to knuckle one time.
► Ability to lift 50 lbs. knuckle to overhead, (crown) level.
Language Skills
► Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
► Have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
► Have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees.
Mathematical Skills
► Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamental of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
► Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
► Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
► Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diametric form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Education
: High school diploma/GED (preferred) or equivalent.
