The Crane Operator will safely operate an overhead crane via remote control or in the cab to transfer material from one location to another.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

- Perform preventive maintenance checks daily

- Safely load and unload trucks

- Stack coils safely where they belong

- Locate and provide production lines with the coils listed on the work orders

- Empty the scrap buckets as needed

- Dump the coil tails from the uncoiler into the scrap bucket

- Maintain a clean work area

- Report any and all quality concerns promptly

- Perform all tasks in a safe manner, using good judgement

- Additional tasks assigned by supervisor

Required Experience and Skills/Abilities

- Three years of 20+ ton overhead crane experience

- Must be able to lift 50 pounds

- Must be able to walk long distances

- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time

- Excellent depth perception and reaction time

- Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records
