This is a rare opportunity to be the primary source of technical knowledge and driver of strategy and direction for a well-established manufacturing and distribution company. The IT Manager is responsible for managing our growing infrastructure and facilitating the evolution of our network and business systems.
As a 100% hands-on position reporting directly to the owner, the ideal candidate has well-rounded experience across multiple areas of IT as well as the aptitude to translate business requirements into technical solutions. The ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize and adapt to changing requirements is a must. Resourcefulness and willingness to dig into the details is key.
The IT Manager’s primary responsibility is the planning, acquisition, upgrading and implementation of technology systems including ERP, eCommerce, CRM, PIM, CMS, CAD, CAM, EDI, Microsoft Office suite, time & attendance, and other cloud services as well as internal network (AD), end point security, email, phones, hardware, and data backup.
Equally important, the IT Manager is responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance and customization of the company’s ERP system (currently Syspro) and associated integrated software. Overall administrative duties include verifying setup options and defaults are optimized, facilitating bulk updates of products & pricing, auditing transactions, enabling/disabling functionality, managing user security, design business processes and workflows, report and document generation, and configurating integrations with other software.
Front end coding skills including HTML, CSS and JavaScript will be extremely helpful. Ability to consume APIs from various sources as well as back-end skills including Microsoft IIS and/or Nodejs, AWS or Azure are also highly desirable. Database skills including writing queries and stored procedures, managing databases, imports, exports and backups on Microsoft SQL Server would also be extremely helpful.
Being a power-user of Microsoft office suite including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Sharepoint and Access is desired. The ability to create, consume, modify, transform and manipulate data in Excel and to help others with the same is a regular occurrence. Updating databases with data received from outside sources and/or creating data-based reports with Excel is also a recurring need.
Good project management skills will be critical in managing outside services, developers and internal projects. This position is responsible for managing project budgets and timelines as well as for driving deliverables and meeting milestones and goals. Familiarity with project or task management software is a plus.
This position is Full -time, on-site (not remote). Must be local to Metro-Detroit area. Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am – 5:30pm (50 hours). Occasional night/weekend only as necessary.
