The Fick & Sons Diesel Garage, is operating out of our state of the art 33,000 square ft. facility on 4 Mile Rd off I-75 in Grayling, Michigan. We provide fast and dependable repair and service to our clients around Northern Michigan! We strive to create customers for life by meeting our customers needs and exceeding expectations. Fick & Sons is a proud supporter of our local business, military, law enforcement, firefighters, and EMS personnel. In addition to our diesel garage, we provide propane services along with gas & oil transport (commercial & residential). Fick & Sons has been proudly serving Northern Michigan since 1958.

Job Description

We are looking for experienced Diesel Mechanics to join our team, while keeping up our level of commitment to safety and customer service by performing the following duties:

Responsibilities

- Perform truck repair and maintenance work in accordance with factory & industry standards

- Perform minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers

- Conduct regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspection, tire rotation and oil changes

- Maintain parts inventory and cleanliness in the shop

- Collaborate with repair team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs

- Perform regular diagnostic tests on trucks

Qualifications

- 2+ years’ experience as a Diesel Mechanic (or equivalent combination of education & experience)

- Ability to lift up to 150 pounds

- Excellent reading, writing, and communication skills

- Ability to pass a background check and drug test

- Authorized to work in the United States

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
