# General Manager Electrical Contractor

Location: Detroit, MI (On Site)

Pay: $1100,000–$185,000 depending on experience

About the Role

An established electrical contractor is seeking a General Manager to oversee daily operations, project delivery, and field coordination across commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical projects. This leader will support project managers, estimators, and field teams while ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient project execution.

Responsibilities

- Lead operations for electrical and low-voltage projects

- Support PMs, estimators, and field leadership

- Manage schedules, manpower planning, and materials

- Oversee budgets, job costs, and forecasting

- Ensure project quality, safety, and client satisfaction

- Improve processes and strengthen team communication

Required Experience

- Background in electrical contracting (3+ years)

- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and NEC

- Experience managing PMs and field teams

- Experience with commercial/industrial electrical projects

- Union electrical experience (IBEW or similar)

- Familiarity with Procore, Autodesk ACC, Revit, or similar tools

Preferred Experience

- Low-voltage technology exposure (fiber, security, fire alarm, AV)

- Managing multiple project teams

- Budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning
