Controls Engineer

Location: Onsite – near Hillsdale, MI

Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 base + bonuses

About the Role

We are seeking a Sr.-level Controls Engineer to lead automation and process development projects. This is a hands-on role where you’ll design, implement, and optimize new processes, work with PLCs, robotics, and write code to drive efficiency.

What You’ll Do

- Lead and support process development projects, designing and implementing new controls systems.

- Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC systems (Rockwell, Siemens, Omron).

- Work with robotics and automation systems (robot type flexible, training provided).

- Develop and implement code in Python or similar languages to support automation and process improvements.

- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve productivity, safety, and quality.

Requirements

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process/controls engineering or a related role in a manufacturing environment.

- Strong programming foundation (Python or similar).

- Knowledge of PLCs and robotics (open to various systems, training available).

- Demonstrated ability to design, build, and optimize processes.
