Installs and services oil and LP gas fired appliances and related equipment in residential and commercial establishments. Ensures all work is performed to meet state and federal code requirements.
- Assembles and positions oil storage and LP gas storage tanks in accordance with current state and federal codes.
- Keeps current on any code changes per federal, state and local ordinances.
- Diagnose and repair heating systems and/or equipment.
- Ensures units are put into operation and functioning properly.
- Maintains proper inventory on service vehicle.
- Fills out all paperwork accurately and completely, including work orders, P3, Tank sure, etc.
- Maintains positive relationships with customers, vendors, and coworkers.
- Continues to seek working knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, etc.
- Monitors license renewal dates and continuing education requirements.
- Ability to cover scheduled on-call shifts appointed.
- Respond to emergency calls promptly and providing routine maintenance to help fix the HVAC system quickly for customers.
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of how residential and commercial heating systems, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment operation and function.
- Ability to trouble shoot, diagnose, and evaluate misfunctions of heating and cooling systems.
- Proficient in reading schematics, blueprints, and work plans
- Ensures compliance with appliance standards, codes, and OHSA requirements.

State of Maine driver's license with a clean driving record.
State of Maine Fuel Board Apprentice, Journeyman or Master Oil license
State of Maine Appliance Connection and Service Propane License
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Will regularly be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and occasionally sit.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat.
