JOB FUNCTION / PURPOSE
The Maintenance Technician I with outlying station duties is responsible for chemical testing, chemical offloading, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a variety of equipment to extend its serviceable life. This supports facility operations by performing preventative and corrective maintenance as well as routine chemical testing of the well and tank sites.
We are looking for candidates for 2 shifts - 8:00am to 4:00pm and 2:00pm to 10:00pm.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Visting all outlying stations (wells, lift stations, tank sites, booster stations) on a routine schedule as assigned.
- Perform routine field lab testing on sites as required.
- Unload treatment chemical deliveries.
- Repairs or replaces chemical feed equipment, pumps, motors, gearboxes, blowers, and other mechanical components.
- Provide input for capital improvements for outlying stations.
- Maintains records and documentation of work orders and completed tasks.
- Performs routine equipment maintenance tests and inspections.
- Adheres to all company safety policies and health procedures as they relate to essential job duties.
- Available for all shifts including weekends, holidays, evenings, and emergency on-call rotations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to write simple correspondence and follow written/oral instructions.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn and assist in team-based environments.
- Prior water or wastewater treatment facility experience preferred.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent and 0–1 year of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid Driver’s License (CDL preferred).
- Obtain and Maintain Maryland T4 water operator license.
- Obtain and Maintain Maryland 5A wastewater operator license.
- Obtain and Maintain Maryland Water Sample Collectors Certification.
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairways safely.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
