We are seeking an Electrical Distribution Engineer to join our Distribution Design Department. Under the general direction of the
Customer Service Design Engineer, the Electrical Distribution Engineer is responsible for working with a team of highly skilled
technical staff and consultants to design overhead and underground residential and commercial electrical distribution systems within
the City of Winnipeg Region for 66kV and below. The Electrical Distribution Engineer will be responsible for the review and sealing of
design drawings and collaborating with internal and external customers to ensure customer needs are met in a safe and
cost-effective manner.
- Provide engineering design support and project management for overhead and underground residential, commercial, and
streetlighting projects within the City of Winnipeg area, including all additions and modifications to ensure that safety,
compliance with standards, and cost efficiency are met.
- Design, review, assume professional responsibility of, as well as supervise the preparation of work order packages
(construction drawings, bills of materials and cost estimates) for distribution design projects, including monitoring and
reporting on project scheduling.
- Work closely with customers and business representatives to ensure customer needs are met from a technical perspective.
- Develop and participate in process improvement initiatives related to distribution design.
- Represent the department in dealings with other Hydro groups, as well as other utilities, government departments and

- Graduate in Engineering from a recognized University with a minimum of six years of related experience and a broad
knowledge of electrical distribution systems. Preference will be for candidates with Electrical Engineering, however
consideration will be given to other disciplines as noted. Consideration may also be given to candidates who have less than
six years of related experience.

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $48.74-$67.29 Hourly,
$93,398.24-$128,947.78 Annually.
