- Identify innovative opportunities.
- Responsible for the maintenance of the drilling rigs and associated support equipment operated by Major Drilling Canada.
- Work with the parts department to help monitor inventory levels and they can order accordingly to ensure spare parts and consumables are adequately stocked to carry out maintenance.
- Review systems regularly to ensure they are working effectively and make/suggest alterations or improvements where required.
- Work within budgetary guidelines and carry out maintenance in a cost-effective manner.
- Maintain work orders, work schedules, and time sheet approvals.
- Ensure daily tasks and procedures are followed safely and correctly.
- Supports the maintenance department, planning, shutdown work, and reviewing parts and schedules.
- Attend and conduct weekly production meetings and report on the progress of outstanding or completed maintenance items.
- Suggest design improvements and cost-saving initiatives that may constitute safer and more efficient operation of the drilling rigs and associated equipment.
- Supply follow-up information to the Field Superintendents with regards to drill rig safety inspections and the progress of outstanding items.
- Submit monthly progress reports on repairs.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Able to travel when required.
- Manage daily maintenance activities. 75% of your time will be working on the floor to help develop growth and knowledge in the team.
- Maintain a close working relationship with the crew, client, colleagues, and Supervisors.
- Set up maintenance schedules and files for all shop and equipment, keep accurate records of maintenance required and maintenance completed.
