GeologicAI is a Calgary-based start-up developing and deploying exciting new technologies for the energy and mining sectors. We build nifty geological robots that scan rocks, train AI to analyze the scan data, and make fancy software that makes all our results incredibly useful for finding and extracting natural resources. We are well-funded and growing rapidly and looking for amazing people to join our team.
We're a fast-growing well-funded company working on interesting products that are making difference to the world. Our products and services are helping find the hydrocarbons that power our world today, and the metals and minerals required for the energy transition of tomorrow.
We are seeking a Senior Project Geologist to lead all aspects of drilling, core management, and field operations for the Zonia Project in Arizona. This is a unique opportunity to combine geological leadership with cutting-edge technology which will transform how exploration data is collected, analyzed, and modeled.
In this role, you will oversee the full drilling, logging, and sampling program, ensuring operational excellence and a strong safety culture while integrating advanced AI-enabled scanning, analytics, and modeling technologies.
The ideal candidate will bring proven health and safety leadership, extensive exploration program experience, a passion for innovation and an eagerness to help shape the future of digital, data-driven mineral exploration and project development.
- Program Management & Field Leadership
- Plan, lead, and execute the full drilling program at Zonia, including contractor management, logistics, budgets, safety, and field operations.
- Supervise drilling, core recovery, handling, storage, and sampling, ensuring best practices and QA/QC compliance.
- Manage field teams, technicians, and contractors, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and technical excellence.
- Coordinate with RXS and Edge Copper teams to maintain alignment on scope, schedule, and deliverables.
- Oversee setup and daily operations of the Zonia core handling and scanning facility, including workflow integration with RXS and GeologicAI technology teams.
- Ensure efficient movement of drill core through scanning, remote autologging and validation, sampling, and archiving processes.
- Maintain high standards of data integrity, sample traceability, and operational discipline.
- Collaborate closely with RXS technical teams to integrate GeologicAI’s multi-sensor core scanning systems (LiDAR, RGB imaging, XRF, hyperspectral) and automated sampling systems.
- Engage with AI-enabled “autologging” workflows, contributing geological insight and validation.
- Provide feedback and ideas to improve the combined geological–technological workflow.
- Act as an internal advocate for technology adoption and data-driven decision-making within the field team.
- Work with data scientists, geologists, and modelers to ensure data quality and completeness.
- Support the development of an integrated geological and geometallurgical model that enhances predictability and confidence in the Zonia Project.
- Participate in technical reporting, interpretation, and communication of project results.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of mineral exploration experience, including significant field-based program management.
- Proven experience running full-cycle exploration programs: drill planning, execution, logging, sampling, QA/QC, data management.
- Strong technical understanding of core logging, assay workflows, and geological interpretation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Comfort working with digital data capture systems, and a willingness to learn and engage with emerging technologies (AI, sensors, automation).
- Authorized to work in the United States; ability to work on-site in Arizona is essential
This is not a conventional exploration role. As part of the RXS and GeologicAI team, you’ll be at the forefront of a technology-enabled transformation in mineral exploration proving that smarter, faster, and data-rich workflows can redefine how discoveries are made and projects are de-risked.
- Lead a real-world deployment of cutting-edge exploration technology.
- Work with world-class geoscientists, data experts, and innovators.
- Contribute to a flagship project that is setting new industry standards.
Working at GeologicAI you will enjoy the following benefits:
- A casual and fun work environment
- Extended health and dental benefits
- Flexible schedule and opportunities for remote work
- Robots with lasers!
