POSITION TO BE BASED IN ALEXANDRIA, LOUISIANA OR LAFAYETTE, LOUISIANA
The Controller is responsible for all aspects of the companies’ accounting policies, processes, objectives, and initiatives. The Controller understands the importance of providing an engaging work environment and is proud of the company they are a part of. The Controller is a self-motivator, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and pay attention to meticulous details.
The Controller will have overall financial responsibility for the company including:
Oversee financial operations including AP/AR, job cost accounting, payroll, field credit card expenses and cash flow management Accounts Payable
- Develop and maintain the system of internal accounting controls and financial reporting Budgeting, forecasting and analysis
- Work Closely with Human Resources on Payroll Processing
- Work-In-Progress reporting & General Ledger
- Produce period financial statements
- Coordinate quarterly accounting reviews, annual audits, and tax returns
- Maintain state registrations, business, and tax licenses, etc.
- Determine depreciation rates to apply to capitalized items, and advise management on actions regarding the purchase, lease, or disposal of such items. Track or direct the tracking of said assets.
- 5-10 years construction accounting experience OR public audit experience of Construction companies
- BS / BA in accounting; CPA, MBA a plus but not required.
- Experience in job costing or cost accounting.
- Experience in Sage Intacct Construction ERP
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Highly motivated, exceptional work ethic and energetic team player.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Efficiently work in ERP and Payroll/HR Systems.
- Data analytics skills
- Proficient in various technology applications.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- A neat, well-groomed, and professional appearance shall be maintained.

The job operates in a professional office environment using standard office equipment. Occasionally the job will operate in a field environment.

Core days are typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but hours are flexible and may extend outside of the core day.
Office accounting and payroll employees may report to the Controller.
