Under limited supervision, serves as a senior subject matter expert responsible for coordination, integration, and oversight of Safeguards and Security programs for the DUF6 Conversion Project. Provides technical leadership, serves as primary liaison with DOE, leads program development and assessments, and provides direction for sitewide safeguards and security strategy and compliance. Work requires advanced expertise, independent decision-making, and broad program accountability. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities of support in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:
- Leads and coordinates implementation and integration of Safeguards and Security programs across the project.
- Serves as primary liaison with DOE and external regulatory agencies on safeguards and security matters.
- Provides technical leadership in development, revision, and governance of policies, procedures, and program strategy.
- Leads site readiness for DOE inspections, surveys, and regulatory reviews.
- Leads complex investigations and provides direction for incident response and corrective actions.
- Leads site risk and threat assessments and provides recommendations to leadership.
- Directs development and execution of training and qualification programs.
- Provides program oversight and direction to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
- Leads cross-functional coordination with operations, logistics, engineering, and protective force organizations.
- Provides expert review and approval of regulatory changes, facility modifications, and new projects.
- Serves as the Facility Security Officer and program authority in the absence of management.
- Provides mentoring and technical guidance to junior safeguards and security staff.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Security Management or related field, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
