Responsible for the planning, scheduling and execution of all engineered and non-engineered jobs for the distribution line and service work force. The job will combine the available personnel and equipment resources to assure that the jobs are completed in a timely, efficient manner.
- Investigate damage complaints and prepare reports detailing findings and make recommendations to resolve complaints.
- The damage complaints may include but not be limited to: service quality, high or low voltage, landscape damage caused by company equipment or personnel, etc.
- Assist with pre checking jobs, customer contacts, work with stores, distribution crews and applicable supervision to secure and provide the necessary tools and equipment for the crew personnel.
- Support technical training needs when requested and coordinate training with technical trainers if needed. Conduct distribution line training as needed.
- Inspect and test distribution line tools and equipment.
- Promote and enforce the Company's Accident Prevention, Safety and Health Programs, and assist line crews on jobs as required for work area protection and ground worker assistance.
- Support service restoration activities and assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in distribution line or distribution engineering, or equivalent related experience, including good working knowledge of distribution operations activities.
- Develop work plans which involves field checking jobs for all jobs assigned to the line and service personnel for construction, maintenance and operation of the distribution system.
- Interface with customers and expedite work as necessary to meet schedules.
- Interface with engineering, stores, and meter to assure a smooth work flow between all departments.
- Schedule and assist with other job related functions such as training and meetings.
- Coordinate planned outages and service restoration activities.
- Fill in for the Distribution System Supervisor as necessary during their absence.
- Support and carry out the company's safety program.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in distribution line or distribution engineering, or equivalent related experience, including good working knowledge of distribution operations activities.
- Must possess interpersonal skills necessary to deal with internal and external customers in a professional manner.
