Position Summary
We’re seeking a creative, driven Communications & Marketing Intern to support our public utility’s mission of powering the community. As part of our content and outreach team, you’ll gain hands-on experience in social media, press releases, podcasts, event coverage, and strategic campaigns. If you’re passionate about storytelling, community impact, and brand building — and ready to tackle everything from video editing to flyer design — this is the internship for you.
Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule
$20 per hour
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create content for digital and print platforms (flyers, social media graphics, videos, logos, etc.) using tools like Canva and Adobe Creative Suite. * - Draft internal and external communications, such as press releases, public notices, and blog content. * - Support podcast production, video interviews, and short-form storytelling efforts. * - Assist with community engagement initiatives, public events, and internal campaigns. * - Collaborate on social media strategy and help draft/schedule content. * - Help track customer feedback and support content planning based on audience response. * - Provide logistical support for communications projects, including event signage, branded materials, and media kits. * - Work on cross-departmental requests — learning how utilities communicate with legal, HR, customer service, and technical operations. * - Maintain brand consistency across all channels while contributing fresh creative ideas. * - Have fun, stretch your skills, and leave with a portfolio of meaningful work that matters. *

- Pursuing degree in Communications, PR, Journalism, Marketing, Graphic Design, or related field in an accredited university.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Skilled in design and social media (Canva, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
- Familiar with video editing, podcasting, or audio storytelling (or eager to learn).
- Strong writing with attention to tone, grammar, and voice.
- Confident presenting ideas and asking questions.
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and reliable follow-through.
- Passionate about public service, equity, and community impact.
