The Parts Clerk will be responsible for ordering, receiving, storing, and issuing parts for the Maintenance department. The Parts Clerk will also be responsible for logging information daily into Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to maintain accuracy of parts. This position reports to the maintenance supervisor, working closely with the purchasing manager.
- Maintain parts inventory, both physically and virtually in CMMS
- Receive, verify, and count incoming parts and packages - processing through CMMS in accordance to company work instructions and trainings.
- Receive, stage and/or stock items promptly and efficiently.
- Update and maintain CMMS data, files, packing slips, invoices, and spreadsheets daily
- Cycle counts on inventory, stocking inventory, pulling inventory, and staging parts for work.
- Creating consumable WO’s and Purchase Orders (PO) through CMMS by request, system prompting, and/or Purchase Order Requests (POR).
- Communication on part deliveries, extended deliveries, or delayed parts to the appropriate parties.
- Supporting Customers (operators, maintenance, supervisors, management, and janitors) with prompt professionalism.
- Keep work area clean and orderly - free of loose and unnecessary objects.
- Maintain floors and aisle ways, keeping them free of slip and trip hazards.
- Remove waste (packaging, trash, debris) daily or as needed throughout the day.
- Any other duties as assigned
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to work alone with minimal supervision or as part of a team
- Ability to multi-task, maintaining work while being interrupted.
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Basic math, reading, and writing skills
- Data Entry, Clerical, Inventory, and/or Shipping/Receiving work experience preferred.
- Ability to operate office equipment including computers, copiers/scanners, fax machines, and phones
- Forklift experience preferred, or willingness to learn and complete forklift training
- Ability to regularly lift 30lbs.
- Exposure to physical operations in scrap recycling facilities, including walking/climbing in active industrial yards with uneven surfaces in inclement weather
