Are you an auto mechanic who likes to work on heavy vehicles? Harrison Steel has an opening on First Shift in its Maintenance Department for a Garage Mechanic. This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining all rolling stock within our facility. The equipment you will be responsible for includes fork trucks, sweepers, maintenance carts, trucks, cars, and other heavy equipment. You'll get the chance to work on all types of equipment, from golf carts to 25,000 pound fork lifts, and from modern-day vehicles to a 1940 Ford Firetruck.
- Prior experience in auto or industrial maintenance and repair
- Basic math and reading skills
- Valid state issued driver's license
The employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 70 pounds. The employee is regularly required to stand or walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
