Job Summary
We are seeking a Junior Engineering Technician will support BrightLine Energy’s field and engineering teams by assisting with solar inspections, data collection, and technical documentation. This entry-level role is designed for individuals interested in renewable energy who want to develop hands-on experience in solar PV and energy storage systems.
- Assist in field inspections of solar PV and battery energy storage systems, including data gathering, site observations, and photo documentation.
- Support engineering staff with measurement and testing (e.g., IV curve tracing, insulation resistance, ground continuity checks, and basic electrical measurements).
- Perform system documentation: preparing inspection checklists, reports, and as-built updates.
- Maintain and organize project files, inspection results, and field notes.
- Learn and adhere to safety protocols, OSHA/ANSI standards, and company procedures.
- Assist with equipment setup, calibration, and troubleshooting under supervision.
- Collaborate with senior team members to ensure inspection accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for project mobilization, scheduling, and reporting.
- Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, Renewable Energy, or equivalent experience preferred.
- 1–4 years of relevant work experience in solar, electrical, or construction fields.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and solar PV preferred (training provided).
- Ability to use standard hand tools, multimeters, and testing equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with reporting tools a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to travel to project sites (regional and national) as required.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Comfortable working at heights and with ladders, following proper safety protocols.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs of equipment.
