Overview
The Electrical Engineer is an individual contributor subject matter expert within CB&I Storage Solutions for complex electrical engineering design, analysis and development of an assigned scope of work in a CB&I project and/or specific complex deliverables such as power generation systems, substation & power distribution systems and lighting & grounding systems. The work includes among other things, conceptual studies, cost and planning studies, layouts, voltage drop calculations, specification development and electrical one-line diagrams. The PPL Electrical Engineer works independently with minimal supervision and may be responsible to train or supervise the work of a less experienced electrical engineer. The role reports to the Electrical Engineer Manger.
Responsibilities
•Accurately produce deliverables per company standards and project electrical specifications.
•Adhere to regulations and bylaws of local professional engineering jurisdictions and code of ethics in protection of the public and the environment.
•Ensure electrical engineering design, analysis and development of an assigned scope of work in a CB&I project and/or specific complex deliverables such as power generation systems, substation & power distribution systems and lighting & grounding systems are safe for field and use, with constructability in mind.
•Assists with training other engineers by providing instruction on new technologies and/or a specialization.
•Supports the development of new technologies and methods.
•Responsible for providing expertise and guidance to department.
•Regarded as the leading electrical engineer and technical expert.
•Maintains and promotes a focus on CB&I's end product whether engineering, fabrication or construction.
•Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines.
•Coordinates with other roles and functions on project team.
•Ensures effective change management.
•Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity and budget control.
Qualifications
•Accredited BSEE engineering degree.
•Prefer Professional Engineering certificate of registration.
•Has 15+ years of detail electrical engineering experience.
•Is familiar with codes and standards of NEC, IEEE, NFPA and ANSI.
•Is current on new scientific engineering methods and possesses a broad technical knowledge of the detail design engineering process.
•Is capable of appropriate use of computer applications and other specialized engineering tools.
