Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Instrumentation & Automation Technician to join our field service and project installation team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, and has a solid understanding of instrumentation, control panels, and industrial automation.
Key Responsibilities:
•Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation and control systems (including sensors, transmitters, PLCs, VFDs, etc.)
•Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control drawings
•Program, troubleshoot, and modify PLCs and HMIs (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
•Perform system testing, commissioning, and preventative maintenance
•Collaborate with engineers and electricians on system integration
•Ensure all work complies with electrical codes, safety standards, and project specs
•Provide on-site support and emergency troubleshooting for client systems
Qualifications:
•2+ years of experience in instrumentation, automation, or industrial controls (or relevant technical training)
•Strong knowledge of PLC programming, SCADA, VFDs, and sensor technologies
•Ability to work independently in the field and manage multiple job sites
•Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
•Experience in agricultural, water/wastewater, or industrial settings is a plus
•Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
•Willingness to travel locally for job site work
