The ISO-Safety Coordinator will administer and execute the safety and loss
prevention program and the Quality Management System.
The coordinator performs routine daily and tactical functions including but not
limited to new employees safety and quality training, warehouse inspections, ISO audits,
Management Review meetings, and will assist in the implementation and development of the safety
and loss prevention program and the Quality Management System.
JOB EXPECTATIONS: The coordinator will assist in the implementation of the safety and loss
prevention program, training, and quality program. The following is the expectations for the safety
and training coordinator:
Safety
1. Communicates and trains new personnel regarding all safety functions of the company and OSHA
regulations. Reviews OSHA regulations and ensures the safety programs are in compliance to
the regulations. Reviews the “Safety Handbook” for the facility and ensures the information is upto-date.
2. Reviews all accident investigation reports and near miss incidents and provides suggestions and
corrective actions to minimize frequency and severity of accidents and/or near misses. Accident
reports must be sent to the appropriate in each facility. Inspects the warehouse to ensure that all
safety and/or personal protective equipment are in working order and first aid supplies are in
stock. Performs routine inspections and audits with assistance by the safety committee members
to determine the effectiveness of the OSHA and/or the safety and loss prevention programs. The
facility must have a DART rating below the industry standard.
3. Performs routine safety meetings to personnel. These meeting will educate employees on safety
policies and procedures, trends, practices, and changes to the safety and loss prevention
program. Communicate to the supervisor the content of their routine safety meetings with
personnel. Assist with the supervisor in handling disciplinary actions on employees who do not
follow safety policies and procedures.
Training/Quality
1. Develops and conducts training session for the Company as directed by management. This
includes safety and quality training. Administer the training program as per the Quality
Management System.
2. Will assist in the direction of the Company and make recommendations about training and
process improvements in the department. Coordinate and conduct Internal Audits as directed by
the audit schedule and management. Coordinate management review meetings as by the
procedure and/or management. The coordinator discusses and prepares reports for management
regarding continuous improvement changes by utilizing employee involvement, corrective and
preventive action, nonconformance reports, internal audits and management review minutes.
3. Coordinate tool box meetings and assist in the training and toolbox meetings regarding
quality/safety issues. Coordinate and assist in implementing and communicating continuous
improvement projects. Coordinate the review and analysis of the processes of the Quality
Management System.
Interpersonal Skills
1. The coordinator must demonstrate integrity and honesty and have good communication skills.
The coordinate must understand the goals and objectives of the company. The coordinator must
communicate with the safety/quality coordinators in other facilities within the company for
continual improvement projects and processes.
2. The coordinator must be an effective team leader and motivator to the audit team and to all
employees.
3. The coordinator must demonstrate organizational skills and be able to multi-task effectively.
