LeClaire Manufacturing is looking for an experienced production scheduler / master planner to join its team of skilled professionals.
The Manufacturing Production Scheduler/Master Planner plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless coordination and execution of production activities within a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed production schedules that align with customer demand, inventory levels, and resource availability. The role requires close collaboration with operations, production, engineering, and purchasing teams to optimize workflow and minimize downtime. By effectively managing production plans, the Scheduler/Master Planner helps to improve operational efficiency, reduce lead times, and meet delivery commitments. Ultimately, this role drives the synchronization of production activities to support the company’s strategic manufacturing goals and customer satisfaction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, a related field. or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in production scheduling, master planning, or supply chain coordination within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with production planning software such as ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills, Epicor/Kinetic ERP experience a plus.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory management, and capacity planning.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with demand forecasting techniques and tools.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environment.
- Advanced data analysis skills using tools such as SQL, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Develop, maintain, and adjust master production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory status, and capacity constraints.
- Collaborate with production supervisors and engineering to resolve scheduling conflicts and optimize resource utilization.
- Monitor production progress and update schedules to reflect changes in priorities, delays, or equipment availability.
- Analyze production data and key performance indicators to identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
- Communicate production plans and changes effectively to all relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing insights into scheduling efficiencies and capacity planning.
The required skills enable the Scheduler/Master Planner to create accurate and efficient production schedules by leveraging ERP systems and data analysis tools to interpret demand forecasts and inventory levels. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring that production plans are clearly understood and executed. Analytical skills are used daily to identify scheduling conflicts, capacity constraints, and opportunities for process improvements. Preferred skills such as Lean Manufacturing knowledge and advanced data visualization tools enhance the ability to streamline operations and provide actionable insights.
