Utility Partners of America is seeking a dedicated Field Operations Manager (FOM) to join our Metering Division. This role calls for a steady, capable leader who can guide teams, manage complex field operations, and see each project through to successful completion.
The Field Operations Manager oversees all day-to-day field operations for assigned metering projects. This leader ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Travel is required, as you’ll support project teams across multiple locations.
- Lead and support field technicians and supervisors to ensure high-quality installation and service work
- Maintain strict compliance with UPA safety standards, policies, and procedures
- Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables from kickoff through completion
- Conduct daily tailgate meetings and reinforce a strong safety-focused culture
- Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, timekeeping, and inventory management
- Provide on-site coaching and performance feedback to field staff
- Maintain strong communication with clients and internal departments to resolve issues promptly
- Travel frequently to project sites to support operational needs
- Ensure all work meets customer expectations, contract requirements, and UPA quality standards
- Leadership experience in field operations, utilities, metering, construction, or a related industry
- Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to fast-changing field environments
- Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and walk long distances
- Must be able to work with handheld electronic devices
- Must be able to work outdoors and withstand regional, seasonal weather
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work and maintain consistent attendance
- Must be drug-free, maintain a clean driver’s license, and pass a criminal background check
- Must have excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and related programs
