SUMMARY
The Utility Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the preventive and corrective maintenance across the manufacturing facility. This includes CDA, Cooling Water, and other Critical Facility and Utility systems essential for cleanroom environments and production support.
This position leads a team of maintenance technicians, ensures compliance with air quality and pressure standards, coordinates external vendor activities, and drives reliability improvements. The role requires strong technical know-how, system diagnostic capabilities, and a proactive leadership mindset focused on uptime and performance.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Main tasks of the Utilities Maintenance Supervisor should include but not limited to the following:
- Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:
- Implement manufacturer-recommended PM schedules for each subsystem.
- Ensure timely HEPA and pre-filter replacements per cleanroom standards.
- Address abnormal equipment behavior, system alarms, or performance drops through effective troubleshooting.
- Team Leadership & Daily Operations:
- Assign tasks and lead daily work activities for the in-house maintenance team.
- Conduct shift handovers, performance feedback, and on-site skill development.
- Supervise cleaning schedules, filter tracking, and documentation of all work orders.
- Vendor Management:
- - - Oversee third-party contractor activities for specialized cleaning or repair.
- Validate service completion and documentation; report major issues to Engineering.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, working at height, confined space rules, and proper lockout/tagout procedures.
- Support compliance, especially in relation to environmental and safety standards.
- Coordination & Communication:
- Submit weekly/monthly maintenance reports and participate in performance review meetings.
- Recommend system improvements and upgrades to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Educational Background:
- Preferred: Associate degree (2-year college degree) in Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, etc.
- Minimum: High school diploma or GED with relevant technical training/certification
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the specific system field
- At least 1–2 years in a lead or supervisory capacity
- Technical Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of Utility and Facility system components.
- Familiarity with cleaning standards, control systems, and exhaust emission management.
- Able to interpret schematics, layouts, and system manuals.
- Relevant Certificate (Preferred):
- OSHA 10/30, LOTO, Confined Space Entry
- Competencies:
- Strong organizational and reporting skills.
- Proactive problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
- Effective leadership with a safety-first mindset.
