The Sr. Analyst is a key contributor within the Shared Services Administration (SSA) team, responsible for supporting both financial planning and operational compliance functions. This role is focused on two primary areas: (1) Budget Analysis & Financial Planning, where the incumbent will assist in managing aspects of the department's budgeting process, including forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting, and (2) Data Auditing & Compliance Support, where the incumbent will conduct audits and reviews of payroll processing data and collaborate on compliance initiatives to ensure accuracy and adherence to policies and regulations.
The position reports directly to the SSA Budgets & Operations Manager, who will remain a working manager and oversee core aspects of the budget and planning process. The Sr. SSA Budgets & Operations Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of financial data, driving process improvements, and providing analytical support to enhance decision-making within the department.
- Assist with the planning, preparation, and coordination of the annual budget for the Shared Services division, including general and administrative costs.
- Support the preparation, consolidation, and presentation of financial and operating results for monthly reporting to executive management, Family of Companies, and the board of directors.
- Develop and maintain tools, templates, and procedures to streamline the preparation and administration of financial plans.
- Review and analyze submitted financial plans, making recommendations for adjustments or corrections as necessary.
- Partner with the SSA Budgets & Operations Manager to ensure timely and accurate completion of budget-related deliverables, including capital budget processes and expense tracking.
- Perform monthly variance analysis of actual performance versus budget and forecasts, identifying key drivers of discrepancies and recommending corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Accounting, IT, and Finance, to ensure accurate allocation of shared service costs.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support business needs or recommend courses of action.
- Conduct detailed audits of payroll processing data to ensure accuracy, compliance with internal policies, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Support the compliance team during internal and external audits, serving as a key resource for data validation and documentation requests.
- Develop and implement processes to monitor the integrity and consistency of operational data, flagging errors and proposing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain controls that mitigate risks related to data integrity and financial reporting.
- Assist in preparing audit reports, summaries, and recommendations for improvements in processes and controls.
- Partner with stakeholders to resolve data discrepancies, investigate anomalies, and ensure timely and accurate resolution of issues.
- Internal Partners: Work closely with Shared Services Administration leadership, HR, Accounting, Finance, IT, and Compliance teams.
- External Partners: Collaborate with Family of Companies representatives and external auditors as needed.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex data sets and identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Solid understanding of financial planning, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Experience with data auditing, compliance processes, and internal controls.
- Advanced proficiency spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), and/or data visualization tools.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
