The Supervisor oversees field operations crews and subcontractors engaged in the installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of natural gas mains and service lines. This role ensures all work is performed safely and in full compliance with federal, state, local, and company regulations. Responsibilities also include managing schedules, coordinating daily operations, and ensuring quality and productivity from project start to completion.
- Supervise daily and long-range activities related to the installation, maintenance, repair, removal, and replacement of above- and below-ground gas pipeline facilities.
- Assign work, resolve operational issues, and manage employee and contractor schedules.
- Oversee subcontractors (e.g., drilling and traffic control), evaluate performance, and approve invoices for payment.
- Prepare and manage permitting documentation for new mains, services, rework, and repair projects.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and company policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and update systems; coordinate required training and certifications.
- Manage daily work assignments, set up routes, and upload completed work data at the end of each day, including crew time and usage reports.
- Install, maintain, and replace gas meters as required.
- Report to the office daily at 6:00 AM for a morning meeting to review and plan daily work activities.
- Ensure crews are mobilized from the shop and en route to job sites no later than 7:00 AM.
- Meet with coordinators to plan jobs prior to commencement.
- Conduct daily field visits to verify job progress, performance, safety, and quality.
- Maintain responsibility for all assigned projects from start to finish.
- Meet weekly with assigned crews to conduct safety and quality audits.
- Attend weekly Friday Supervisor meetings.
- Ensure all crews properly maintain tools and equipment.
- This is a salaried position with no overtime pay.
- Ensure personnel safety and compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and company regulations.
- Determine crew availability for Construction Support and adjust daily work assignments and schedules as needed.
- Respond to and assist in resolving escalated customer issues, including property damage and service interruptions.
- Provide support to local SCG Service Centers as required.
- Prepare and maintain work schedules for employees, contractors, tools, equipment, and vehicles in accordance with the company plan.
- Monitor scheduling variances and provide explanations and corrective actions as needed.
- Supervise staff selection, development, and retention; establish performance goals and objectives.
- Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations to staff.
- Ensure organizational policies and procedures are followed and enforced.
- Conduct and document jobsite audits, including safety, quality control, and performance measures.
- Monitor compliance with safety requirements and promote a strong safety culture.

- High school diploma or GED.
- 3–5 years of experience in gas distribution operations or related experience.
- Demonstrated ability to obtain and maintain the following:
- Crisis management skills.
- MS Word proficiency.
- MS Office (intermediate proficiency).
- Operator qualifications in accordance with the Company Plan.
- PSC/Customer regulations knowledge.
- OSHA-required training and designation as a Competent Person.
- Company-issued Gas Card.
- Georgia Foreman Certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Subject to adverse field conditions.
- Safety-sensitive position.
- Overnight travel as required.
