Job Title: MasterCAM Programmer – Mill Drill Department

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer with experience using MasterCAM to join our Mill Drill Department. This role is responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs for the precision machining of steel plate components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming, an understanding of machining operations, and a focus on quality and efficiency in a steel plate fabrication environment.Key Responsibilities:
•Develop and edit CNC programs using MasterCAM for Mill Drill machines.
•Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate programming.
•Optimize tool paths and machining strategies to improve cycle times and reduce tool wear.
•Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure program accuracy and manufacturability.
•Perform test runs and assist operators with setup and troubleshooting when necessary.
•Maintain documentation of programs and revisions per company standards.
•Ensure all programs meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
•Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Mill Drill department.
Qualifications:
•2+ years of CNC programming experience, preferably in a steel plate fabrication or machining environment.
•Proficiency with MasterCAM, BobCAD, or similar CAD/CAM software.
•Understanding of G-code and CNC machine operations.
•Familiarity with Mill Drill machines and large-format steel plate machining is a plus.
•Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
•Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
•Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Associate degree or certification in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering, or related field.
•Experience with steel plate layout and tolerancing.
•Knowledge of tooling, fixturing, and machine setup.
Physical Demands
•Ability to sit, stand, walk for long periods of time
•Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a phone, computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components
•Requires the ability to communicate verbally, both in person and on the telephone
Work Environment
•Familiar with manufacturing environment with regular exposure to factors such as moving particles, temperature extremes, moving machinery, equipment and loud noise
•Average office noise levels, and ear protection along with other PPE required when working in plant
•Ambient temperature between 50 and 100 degrees
