Title: Inventory and Supply Aide
Reports To: Manager, Purchasing & Warehouse
Department:
Accounting and Finance
Purpose: Help power local communities by ensuring line crews have access to all necessary equipment to build and maintain the power system. Serve as a steward of resources by utilizing effective database management and processes to maintain proper records while receiving, storing, securing, and disbursing materials and supplies within the warehouse facilities. Be a champion of internal customer service, stewardship, and inventory management.
Minimum Qualifications:
•High School graduate or equivalent.

•Solid computer and technology skills:
+ Knowledgeable in Windows and Microsoft Office products.
+ Ability to navigate new software following training.
•Ability to safely operate a fork-lift and obtain/maintain necessary certification.
•Ability to demonstrate mathematical skills.
•Ability to learn new processes or skills, retain knowledge, and put training plans into action within a reasonable and established timeframe.
•Excellent interpersonal skills to promote strong customer service and the ability to foster relationships with employees, vendors, management, and others.
•Physical strength and ability to perform heavy lifting.
•A Valid driver's license.
•The ability to satisfactorily pass North Georgia EMC’s pre-employment, post-offer drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience in warehouse environment.
•Class B commercial license
Job Functions:
•Understand and implement company work order procedures.
•Perform functions in the work order system, as needed.
•Assist with inventory control and management of materials and supplies. This may include managing consignment and fiber.
•Process material and supplies received, issued, and returned to the warehouse, and accurately document such activity.
•Transfer material and supplies between warehouses, and accurately document such activity.
•Maintain the general warehouse facilities and property to ensure all is well-kept, clean, orderly, and well stocked.
•Assist with daily inspections of lift trucks and equipment.
•Maintain knowledge of lift truck operation, policies, and procedures. Be a safe, efficient, and courtesy operator.
•Actively participate in job training and department safety meetings.
•Abide by all safety rules, practices, and standards; perform all duties and tasks in a safe manner.
•Constantly seek ways to improve processes and work assignments to promote safer, better, faster, and leaner methods.
•Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

Requires physical ability in climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, crawling, pushing, pulling, lifting, the ability to lift small objects with the fingers, grasping, talking, hearing, and is defined heavy work. Maintain a body weight of less than 275 pounds to safely conduct work using a lift and ladder. Requires visual acuity in machine operation. Exposure to outside environmental conditions on a frequent basis.
Working Conditions:
General warehouse environment; requires the flexibility to work irregular hours for assignment completion; requires the ability to work during emergency situations and during inclement weather.
