SUMMARY
QCELLS, America's is currently seeking an Environmental Engineer to work at our Cartersville, Ga facility. This position will be responsible for assisting Qcells in achieving their environmental compliance needs for the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and internal Qcells environmental policies. The Environmental Engineer works with the plant on air, water, and waste projects, collects environmental data, and works with State & Federal agencies on environmental compliance and permit issues. The candidate will have the opportunity to be part of a new plant design, build and start-up in the Cartersville, GA location.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES•Manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and complete projects within budget.
•Generating, preparing, and writing environmental reports.
•Solve environmental problems relating to water, air and waste regulations.
•Develop air emission estimates for industrial processes and related operations.
•Prepare supporting documentation and reports including, but not limited to, engineering calculations, regulatory compliance reports, SWPP/SPCC Plans, Tier II reports, TRI reports, air, water, and waste permit applications.
•Collaborate with supporting plant personnel and other specialists to address environmental problems.
•Inspect plant facilities to evaluate operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
•Develop or present environmental compliance training sessions.
•Timely and effectively communicates with federal, state, and local plant municipalities on environmental compliance issues.
•Serves as point of contact for the plant’s environmental inquiries, inspections, and audits.
•Prepares responses to inspections/audit and manages correction of any noted deficiencies.
•Leads a sustainable culture of excellence by fostering commitment and engaging employees.
•Lead/participate in incident investigations to identify root causes and corrective recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor's in Engineering, Chemistry or Environmental degree.
•A minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental compliance work is required.
•Experience generating, preparing, and writing environmental compliance report.
•Experience preparing environmental reports and plans, such as Air, SARA Tier II/TRI reports, Wastewater reports, SWPP/SPCC plans.
•Ability to perform air emission calculations, etc.
•Ability to interpret environmental regulations and assist industrial plant with compliance.
•Exceptional organizational skills are required to manage/support multiple concurrent projects.
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
•Technical writing skills.
•Presentation and training experience.
•Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel).
