Job Title: Unit Writer – Underground Power Billing
DBE is an underground utilities company with its main headquarters located in Palm Beach County, FL and satellite office in Jacksonville, FL. We specialize in large scale directional drilling and open cut installation of water, sewer, gas, fiber, and power. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Unit Writer to support our underground power construction projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in unit-based power billing and the ability to accurately interpret underground utility prints. This is a full-time position requiring occasional travel to job sites. Overnight travel may be required depending on project. Clean Background, Drug Test (random), and MVR. - Prepare accurate unit-based billing documentation for underground power construction projects.
- Review and interpret underground utility prints and project plans.
- Collaborate with field crews, project managers, and accounting teams to ensure accurate billing and reporting.
- Maintain detailed records of completed work units and materials.
- Input and track billing data using Excel and internal systems.
- Communicate effectively via Outlook and document work progress in Word reports.
- Utilize Salesforce (if applicable) to manage project information and updates.
- Travel to job sites as needed to gather data, verify completed work, and support project teams.
- Proven experience in unit-based power billing (required).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret underground utility prints and construction drawings.
- Prior hands-on experience in underground power construction (strongly preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel as required for project needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
- Primarily office-based with regular travel to field locations and construction sites.
- Occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions may be required during site visits.
