Title: IT Infrastructure Architect, AD & Certification Company: Tampa Electric Company Location: Midtown East Tower State and City: Florida - Tampa Shift: 8 Hr. X 5 Days
The IT Systems Infrastructure Architectis responsible for designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure solutions that support utility systems. Responsible for bringing innovation and best practices to model an environment that supports the business strategies and allows flexibility and speed of delivery. Works with development teams and other stakeholders and provide architecture leadership and best practices and drive and enables improved and modernized design and deployment methodologies. Requires a deep understanding of IT systems infrastructure and to architect solutions that are secure, scalable, and resilient.
- Lead implementation of enterprise-wide infrastructure architecture initiatives and solutions and proof-of-concept projects while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, affiliates and business units to implement and support existing and future solutions.
- Design and deploy IT infrastructure systems that meet business, IT and cyber security requirements
- Perform assessments of exiting systems and applications and provide architectures that are secure, scalable and highly resilient while optimizing cost through analysis of usage patterns and trends.
- Assess and determine migration strategies and plans for all types of IT systems upgrades and replacements.
- Architect solutions to improve resilience and efficiency and ensure compliance with CSF, NERC and TSA regulatory controls.
- Develop roadmaps and lead migration projects to upgrade and replace IT infrastructure systems.
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Required: At least one professional certification for IT infrastructure discipline or technology.
Required: 8 years of experience in IT industry with broad understanding of compute, storage, security, and network infrastructure. Hands-on experience in configuration of IT infrastructure systems including design and management with deep understanding of delivery models.
Preferred: Gas or Electric utility industry. Experience working in large public or private sector organizations. Hands-on Experience with IT infrastructure systems including IP networking, VPN's, DNS, load balancing & firewalls.
- Expertise in Active Directory, Entra ID and other IT infrastructure systems, business drivers and emerging computing trends
- Demonstrate deep subject matter leadership for IT infrastructure systems
- Knowledge of enterprise platforms and operating systems as well as knowledge of key business applications, functions, and processes
- Ability to interact with and provide architectural design guidance to project teams made up of employee and/or supplier resources.
- Knowledge and understanding of enterprise IT networking, architecture and systems
Normal working conditions with occasional weekend and overtime requirements, including on-call rotational support.
Normal physical demands related to an office workplace environment.
