Summary

This position is responsible for operating several types of equipment used in the mine such all equipment described for Heavy Equipment Operator I and Dozer, Front End Loader and Excavator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Daily coordination with supervisors to ensure timely completion of work orders.

· Responsible for crew knowledge and accountability for meeting MSHA standards, such as work area inspections.

· Responsible for completion of task and proper documentation.

· Support and fill in for other positions if needed.

· Ability to safely operate heavy machinery.

· Ability to use hand tools and power tools.

· Perform preventative maintenance inspections.

· Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires.

- Adhere to all PBA and MSHA rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.

Requirements:

- Ability to perform inspections and safely use equipment.

- Ability to detect malfunctioning equipment and respond accordingly.

- Extensive knowledge of mining and heavy equipment machinery.

- Strong communication skills.

- Ability to work efficiently in a high stress, fast paced environment.

- Ability to recognize safety hazards in the workplace and correct them. Conform to all MSHA regulations.

- Ability to work independently and with others.

- Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.

- Strong reading and comprehension skills; ability to read and comprehend manuals

· Organized with attention to detail.

- Possess basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, two-digit numbers and units of measurement.

- Valid driver’s license.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
