Utility Field Technician – Tampa, FL

LineWorks Engineering is seeking a Utility Field Technician to join and support our Utility Services group in our Tampa, FL office. In this role, the Field Technician will work directly with LineWorks professionals, clients, and customers to support utility design projects through accurate field data collection.
The primary responsibility of this position is to gather and document field data to be used in the design process. This role requires working outdoors in typical Florida climate conditions and navigating fields, uneven terrain, and overgrown rights-of-way safely and efficiently. The Utility Field Technician will manage and maintain their appointment schedule while representing LineWorks in a professional manner. Strong communication skills are required, as this position involves regular interaction with both internal team members and external customers. This is an entry-level position and training will be provided.
- High School diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year operating a company vehicle preferred
- Sales background and/or customer service experience is a plus
- Experience working in field conditions a plus
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and relationship with clients and customers
- Excellent organizational and computer skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, contractors and customers
- Knowledge of or exposure to electric systems a plus
- Maintaining a clean driving record at all times is required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Maps
- Pre-employment drug screening, background check and valid drivers license
- Utilize a company-provided tablet to collect, document, and sketch field data.
- Use industry software such as Microsoft OneNote and GIS to organize field data, photos, and supporting documentation for the design process.

- Visit job sites to determine if there are any safety concerns and share information with the client and construction team
