Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Fabrication / Manual Machinist Apprentice to join our team. This entry-level position offers hands-on training in machining and fabrication processes, the apprentice will work closely with experienced machinists and fabricators to develop technical skills in our trade.
- Able to to interpret blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Able to use and read hand tools, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Read a tape measure
- Welding experience preferred, but not necessary (it's necessary that you want to learn)
- Any manual experience (lathes or mills) is again preferred, but not necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, tooling, and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members on projects involving plastics injection molding, welding, or other fabrication techniques as needed.
- Follow safety protocols including proper use of power tools, hand tools, and lifting equipment such as forklifts.
- Engage in continuous learning about manufacturing processes including lean manufacturing principles.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical concepts and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers is preferred.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations relevant to machining tolerances and measurements.
- Mechanical aptitude with hands-on skills using hand tools, power tools, tooling setups, and assembly techniques.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to CNC operation, lean manufacturing practices, and advanced fabrication methods.
- Must be able to work safely with all equipment and adhere to company safety standards.
