Delivery Driver / Shipping Associate (CDL Class A)
The Delivery Driver / Shipping Associate is responsible for performing safe and timely deliveries and pickups, maintaining delivery vehicles, assisting with shipping operations, and supporting warehouse activities. This role requires a valid CDL Class A license, mechanical aptitude for vehicle and equipment maintenance, and strong organizational skills to ensure efficient operations.
- Operate CDL Class A Vehicles: Safely operate company trucks for local and regional deliveries and pickups, adhering to all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Perform Deliveries and Pickups: Load, secure, and transport products to customers and vendors, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism during all interactions.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, basic maintenance, and minor repairs on delivery vehicles to ensure operational safety and compliance. Schedule and coordinate professional service when required.
- Forklift Maintenance: Perform basic preventative maintenance and minor repairs on forklifts and related equipment, reporting major issues to management.
- Assist in Shipping Operations: Support warehouse team in preparing products for shipment, including packaging, labeling, documentation, and loading.
- Load and Unload Shipments: Safely load and unload deliveries using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment, following proper lifting and handling techniques.
- Inventory and Organization: Assist in receiving shipments, verifying product accuracy, and organizing inventory for efficient access and tracking.
- Follow Safety and Compliance Standards: Adhere to all company, OSHA, and DOT safety regulations, ensuring proper handling of materials and operation of equipment.
- Mechanical Troubleshooting: Utilize mechanical knowledge to identify and resolve basic equipment and vehicle issues in a timely manner.
- Workplace Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following housekeeping and safety protocols.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with shipping, warehouse, and administrative staff to meet customer deadlines and operational goals.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Assist in related warehouse, fabrication, or installation activities as needed.
- Valid CDL Class A driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Mechanical knowledge for performing basic vehicle and forklift maintenance.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and safely operate a forklift (or willingness to learn).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
