The Container Delivery Driver is responsible for safely operating a container delivery truck to deliver, replace, and pick up waste containers used by the public. This position requires adherence to company safety policies, defensive driving practices, and federal transportation regulations while providing excellent customer service to residents and businesses.
- Safely operate a container delivery truck to deliver, replace, and repair waste containers along assigned routes.
- Follow Decision Driving principles and defensive driving practices while complying with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Provide a high level of customer service through courteous and efficient interactions with customers and the public.
- Answer customer questions and direct them to Customer Service or Sales Representatives when additional assistance is needed.
- Operate vehicle compaction and lifting equipment when handling waste containers.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections following company procedures and DOT requirements.
- Complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) and Safety Lane activities each day according to company safety guidelines.
- Inspect and maintain truck condition by checking under the hood, undercarriage, fluid levels, tires, and fuel levels.
- Maintain accurate company and regulatory documentation, including service reports and inspection logs.
- Assist with other operational tasks as needed, such as supporting additional routes, delivering bins or carts, or participating in community events.
- Comply with all federal, state, and company safety regulations.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B for the state of Florida.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Knowledge of refuse collection policies, procedures, and safety practices.
- Ability to operate front-end, rear-end, side-load, or roll-off refuse trucks safely.
- Ability to follow assigned routes and work schedules.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English with customers, supervisors, and dispatch.
- Ability to maintain written records and complete required paperwork.
- Ability to hear and see within normal ranges (with or without correction).
- Ability to perform physical movements and operate heavy equipment required for waste collection operations.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Participate in company-sponsored training programs as required to maintain skills and safety standards.
- Stay informed on new technology, tools, and equipment used by the company to support efficient operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management to support team operations and service needs.

- Ability to push, pull, bend, and lift up to 75 pounds throughout the shift.
- Ability to frequently climb in and out of the truck and perform physical tasks required for container delivery and service.
- Work is performed in varied outdoor environments, including exposure to changing weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and wind.
- Regular exposure to noise, vibration, fumes, odors, and dust associated with waste collection operations.
