Lead Engineer Distribution Infrastructure Manager - Distribution Engineering Reports in Office to Orange, CT The salary range for this position is dependent on location and experience level ranging from $120,000 to $142,916 Job Summary
The Lead Engineer will lead/direct the efforts of a team assigned to solve basic to complex problems pertaining to the repair of, replacement of, maintenance of, or new construction of, the electric distribution infrastructure. The Lead engineer will perform basic to complex power systems engineering analysis, design, and calculations pertaining to the repair of, replacement of, maintenance of, or new construction of the electric distribution infrastructure. Direct and guide department engineers to meet specified project/team goals. The Lead would take a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. Work is to be completed with minimal guidance.
Key Responsibilities
+ Utilize knowledge to influence and guide department engineers. + Provide technical leadership in complex projects that have a wide impact on the department + Mentor, develop and support team in technical skills + Ability to collaborate across departments + Liaison/ direct contractors on company policy, standards, and best practices + Work independently with little supervision
+ Theoretical Engineering knowledge - Planning, Operations and Engineering Design, Analytic, modeling & Calculation, understanding the business model; Global View of the Business (Values cross-functional collaboration, understands importance of growing knowledge and developing relationships and links across the organization) + Practical engineering experience/application - Planning, Operations and Engineering Design, Construction, (e.g., field experience, standardization "Perform economic analyses of engineering alternatives, develop business cases and defend in front of stakeholders.") + Engineering documentation - Ability to adequately document and interpret engineering documentation + Ability to review and approve engineering work done by others to ensure compliance with company standards, specifications, and contract requirements + Knowledge of Regulatory and Compliance Environment - Local, State and Federal Regulatory Standards and requirements
+ Demonstrated proficiency, knowledge, and skills in Power System Engineering design, along with related business practices and procedures, to lead an engineering team to solve basic to moderately complex engineering problems. + Able to work with a cross-functional team to explain difficult issues, create action plans, recognize risks, meet deadlines, and establish consensus.
+ BS/BA Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university + At least 7+ years’ experience performing moderately complex engineering duties related to electric power systems including 2 years’ experience leading an engineering team(s). + Project management skills are required. + Technical drawing or Computer Aided Design experience is required. + Advance engineering degree is a plus.
