Installation & Service Manager — SAVKAT INC

The Installation & Service Manager oversees all field installation and service operations across multiple states to ensure solar, roofing, and energy projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to SAVKAT’s quality standards. This role provides leadership to electrical and roofing crews, subcontractors, warehouse personnel, and site survey teams, while maintaining direct accountability for achieving a ≥ 90% first-time inspection and finance pass rate on installed and activated systems. The Installation & Service Manager collaborates closely with engineering, permitting, interconnection, warehouse, and financing stakeholders to support timely and compliant installations and service work. This role is also responsible for ensuring complete and accurate collection, documentation, and submission of all field installation information required by SAVKAT’s financing partners, enabling accurate funding and milestone approvals.
- Manage, schedule, and appropriately staff internal and subcontracted electrical, roofing, and general installation and service crews.
- Oversee daily and weekly installation schedules to maximize labor efficiency and throughput.
- Enforce installation standards, workmanship expectations, and field performance metrics.
- Provide expertise and leadership to resolve service cases including roof leaks, electrical issues, equipment issues (primarily SolarEdge, Enphase, and legacy SunPower based solar and battery systems) in an efficient and timely manner managing company budget, working with vendors and maintaining a five-star customer experience.
- Conduct vehicle, tool, equipment, and safety compliance audits as required.
- Ensure all installations comply with NEC, OSHA, building codes, and utility requirements.
- Maintain a ≥ 90% first-time inspection pass rate across all operating states.
- Lead and document safety trainings, enforce safety policies, and promote a culture of continuous safety improvement.
- Support onsite troubleshooting and technical guidance for installation escalations and service needs.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Permitting, and Interconnection to ensure only buildable, approved jobs enter the install queue.
- Liaise with utility engineers to resolve metering, interconnection, or technical specification concerns.
- Work with the Warehouse Manager to ensure tools, materials, and equipment are properly stocked and deployed.
- Oversee Site Survey personnel and validate surveys for code compliance and constructability.
- Ensure complete capture and submission of all field documentation required by financiers or other vendors, including:
- Photo documentation of installation milestones
- Equipment serial records
- Inspection sign-offs
- Job readiness verification
- Roof/electrical completion photos and validations
- Work with the VP of Sales & Operations to maintain financier-specific requirements and ensure funding workflows are not delayed due to missing or incorrect field documentation.
- Source and coordinate subcontracted support services, including:
- Tree removal
- Trenching
- Roofing support
- Dumpster/refuse services
- Other specialized construction functions as needed
- Ensure subcontractors adhere to SAVKAT expectations for scope, safety, quality, and timeline.
- Review job status daily/weekly; proactively resolve delays, shortages, code issues, or utility constraints.
- Track and manage key operational metrics: inspection results, cycle times, rework rates, and installation throughput.
- Support labor budgeting, crew forecasting, and cost optimization strategies.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in company systems and software (e.g., Zoho CRM and related operational platforms).- 3–7+ years of experience managing solar, roofing, or electrical field operations (solar preferred).
- Working knowledge of NEC, IBC, OSHA standards, and regional utility/inspection requirements.
- Experience managing multi-state installation operations preferred.
- Strong organizational, problem solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and building engineering plans, permit sets, and interconnection specifications.
