General description of main/primary duties and responsibilities of the job, aptitude, level of complexity, span of control, autonomy, decision making and judgement. It is central and necessary to the satisfactory performance of the job. Includes the following and other duties as assigned.
- Develop, implement, and maintain cost and schedule tracking and reporting for sand delivery. Oversee and coordinate sand sourcing and logistics activity to support Completions operations.
- Create and maintain positive relationships with vendors, non-contracted vendors, transload operators, railroads, and barge company representatives.
- Proactively engage in discussions with suppliers, frac companies, and transload operators to ensure the most optimal transload is selected and delivery expectations are defined.
- Support sand contract negotiations with suppliers and monitor contract performance to determine the necessity for amendments, extensions, and compliance to contractual obligations.
- Actively update the daily sand demand forecast based on real time changes due to accelerations or decelerations in completions activity.
- Maintain close communication with all sand suppliers and provide sand forecasts and changes to the demand schedule.
- Generate purchase orders on a recurring basis to meet the need for either the upcoming month’s sand demand or frac jobs. Manage, review, approve or resolve disputes for sand supplier invoices.
- Provide analysis and cost estimates for sand purchases and delivery to other internal departments for planning and budgets.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least five (5) years of experience in Oil & Gas specific to completions operations, procurement, contracts analysis, and logistics management.
List and describe the required factors (i.e. knowledge, skills, abilities, software programs), that are needed for this role.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products with intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Strong background in procurement or sourcing, contract analysis, vendor management, and bid processes.
- General background and understanding in completions engineering principles and operations, in order to communicate effectively regarding frac design changes, schedules, on-site equipment, and pad limitations.
- High level understanding of frac sand mining operations, rail and barge transport, transloading operations, trucking, and well site sand equipment.
- Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting and implementing solutions for supply chain interruptions.
- Functions as an individual contributor with no supervisory responsibilities.
