Job Summary: The Scale Buyer in the Non Ferrous department is responsible for receiving, pricing, and grading raw material (nonferrous scrap) from customers to supply plant requirements.
Essential Responsibilites:
•Learn all aspects of nonferrous pricing, grading preparation and shipment
•Inspects customer material to determine the nonferrous commodity
•Uses a computer to purchase the nonferrous material
•Inspects product to determine compliance with company's specifications, ISRI Specs, quality control system for compliance with legal requirements, and shipping conformity to specified standards
•Load and unload trucks using forklift
•Review and prepare necessary documentation to ensure accuracy of materials received and freight loaded in accordance with schedules, supervisory direction and required federal and state compliance
•Operate dealer nonferrous scale when required
•Maintains neat and orderly work areas
•Complies, promotes and supports all environmental and safety policies

Experience and Education:
•Must be intermediate in Microsoft Office software.
•Typically requires a high school diploma/GED.
•1-2 years’ experience preferred
Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outdoor sites requiring PPE, high trafficked environment consisting of pedestrians, moving heavy equipment, tractor trailers, and standard vehicles. The employee will be exposed to areas with high particulates. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, on some instances this job may require work in areas where ear protection is necessary.
