Job Summary:
The Field Safety Coordinator supports oilfield operations by ensuring compliance with all health,
safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and regulations. Working closely with field personnel,
contractors, and leadership, the coordinator helps maintain a culture of safety through field
audits, employee training, and proactive hazard management. This position is critical to
minimizing incidents, reducing risk, and ensuring operational integrity across drilling,
completions, production, and construction activities.
Key Responsibilities:
•Conduct routine safety inspections and audits production facilities, and construction sites.
•Ensure site personnel follow all company HSE policies and procedures, including proper
use of PPE and adherence to safe work practices.
•Lead and document safety meetings, safety stand-downs, toolbox talks, and new hire
orientations.
•Investigate incidents, injuries, and near-misses; participate in root cause analysis and
track corrective actions to completion.
•Maintain and submit accurate documentation for inspections, training, safety
observations, and incident reports.
•Assist with implementation of Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) programs and Stop Work
Authority (SWA) initiatives.
•Serve as an on-site HSE representative during high-risk operations.
•Communicate daily with field supervisors and corporate HSE staff to report safety
concerns and provide recommendations.
•Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state regulatory requirements applicable
to oil and gas field operations.Qualifications:
•High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational
Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
•2–5 years of field safety experience in oil and gas preferred(drilling, completions,
production, or construction).
•OSHA 10-Hour General Industry or Construction certification required.
•PEC Safeland, H2S, and First Aid/CPR certifications required (or ability to obtain upon
hire).
•Strong knowledge of industry safety standards including API, ANSI, and applicable
state/federal regulations.
•Familiarity with incident reporting systems, hazard identification tools, and safety
management software.
•Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to work in remote locations and harsh outdoor environments; rotational schedules
may apply.
Working Conditions:
•Field-based role with travel to multiple oil and gas sites; exposure to extreme weather,
uneven terrain, and loud environments.
•Extended periods standing or walking; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
•May involve working non-traditional hours, including nights and weekends during
critical operations or emergency response situations.
Note: This position plays a key role in protecting lives, the environment, and the integrity of
operations. A proactive, hands-on safety mindset is essential.
