About the Role:
Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates the manufacturing engineering tasks for a total product line program or system. Responsibilities include conducting detail part producibility reviews; first article proofing of tools, parts, plans or assemblies; shop or vendor liaison; preparation of A/R's for major facilities cost estimating of existing or similar products; development of tooling concepts of a conventional nature. Independently performs most of work assignment. Provide technical direction, training, and work assignments for lower level engineers.
What You Will Do:
•A thorough knowledge of the general principles, theories, and concepts of manufacturing engineering including a thorough working knowledge of the shop practices, methods, and techniques peculiar to the field
•Provides innovative solutions to a wide range of difficult manufacturing problems
•Guides contain standard methods directly applicable to some aspects of the problem
•Applications require substantial modification and adaptation of methods available
•Increased reliance upon independent reasoning and need for considerable judgement
•Works only under very general direction as to general results expected
•Independently determines general approach and specific solutions to technical problems
•Demonstrates good judgement in setting schedules/risk taking
•There is supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects
•Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives
•Makes plans for small projects or subsets of larger projects that may include several other work groups or organizations
•Makes contributions to determining feasibility of goals/objectives
•May be technical leader on assignments with responsibility for monitoring work of others
•Frequent inter-organizational and/or outside contacts
•Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult manufacturing problems associated with specific projects
•Work results contribute to achievement of overall manufacturing objectives and directly affects the quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness of technical projects/efforts
•Incorporates complex and diverse requirements of safety, schedule, quality, cost, and competitiveness into independent and team projects related to manufacturing plans and processes
•Develops training programs and instructions for employees and vendors regarding continuous improvement, new programs, processes and practices
•Responsible for establishing time standards and methods for gathering and analyzing related data
•Develops a variety of figures to improve, measure, and track shop capacity and performance
•Participates in team projects that address manufacturing Improvements, moves, product flow, modernization, and the introduction of new equipment
•Functions as a team lead for some projects
•Performs assigned duties within guidelines of established Company policy and practice, plant safety requirements and Union agreements
What You Have:
•2+ years of manufacturing engineering experience or related engineering role
•Excellent communication, collaborative, initiative, and problem solving skills
•Precision components manufacturing experience including: turning, milling, grinding, and welding
•Experience with 3D CAD modeling, preferably Creo
Preferred Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
•6 Sigma and Lean process training and project experiences
•Working experiences with CMM (coordinate measuring machine), NDT (non-destructive testing), solid modeling, and machine CNC control
•Knowledge and experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution System)
Summary Pay Range:
$108,834.00 - $163,252.00
