Position Summary

Hooked On Solar is seeking an experienced Public Works Superintendent to oversee and manage public solar construction projects, including utility-scale and municipal installations. This is a key field leadership role requiring experience with union labor, prevailing wage compliance, and public infrastructure standards. The ideal candidate brings a strong construction background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to keep teams focused and projects on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day solar construction activities on public works sites.

- Supervise union labor in accordance with Project Labor Agreements (PLAs).

- Ensure strict compliance with prevailing wage laws and certified payroll documentation.

- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, utilities, and government agencies.

- Lead field crews and subcontractors; manage schedules, quality control, and safety.

- Interpret construction drawings and specifications for solar PV installations.

- Maintain daily logs, site reports, and enforce safety protocols (OSHA compliance).

- Attend jobsite meetings and ensure timely communication between all stakeholders.

Requirements

- 7+ years construction supervision experience (public works/infrastructure) - 3+ years solar PV experience (ground-mount, rooftop, or utility-scale)

- Proven experience managing union labor crews

- Strong knowledge of prevailing wage regulations (e.g., Davis-Bacon, CA DIR)

- OSHA 30 Certification (Required)

- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites

- Ability to read and interpret civil, electrical, and structural plans

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with large-scale or municipal solar projects

- Familiarity with utility interconnection processes

- Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
