Job Title: Human Resources Coordinator (Field Compliance Focus) Location: 2674 N 1st St STE 220, San Jose, CA 95134 (in-person office location) Job Type: Part-Time or Full-Time (Hourly) Salary: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour (Based on Experience)
We are seeking a proactive, certified Human Resources Coordinator with strong project management experience to join our team and lead in field-related HR compliance and timekeeping. This role is ideal for someone who knows HR standards in the trades and isn’t afraid to hold employees accountable to policies. You'll play a key role in making sure our field team follows clock-in/out procedures, takes compliant meal breaks, and adheres to safety and labor laws throughout the Bay Area.
- Monitor timekeeping and verify employees are clocking in/out at correct job sites (using Work Force's GPS).
- Enforce proper meal and rest break compliance per California labor laws.
- Track and manage employee attendance, absences, and violations.
- Ensure all required HR and safety documents are up to date (e.g., I-9s, W-4s, OSHA trainings, certifications, etc.).
- Oversee onboarding processes and ensure required trainings are completed
- Maintain compliance with safety codes and labor law updates relevant to electrical contracting.
- Be a point of contact for HR-related questions from both field and office staff.
- Help develop clear internal policies and ensure they are being followed.
- Conduct routine inspections and ensure compliance with local and national electrical codes.
- Experience: Minimum ~2 years of experience in Human Resources.
- Certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent), or equivalent experience in a trades-based HR role
- Familiarity with California labor law, wage and hour rules, and safety compliance
- Experience with HR processes in a construction or field-service environment is a strong plus
- Excellent communication, follow-through, and documentation skills
- Confidence in holding employees accountable in a firm but professional manner
- Comfortable working with time-tracking systems and digital platforms (e.g., Work Force, QuickBooks Time, etc.)
- Competitive Pay: $20-$28 per hour (DOE).
